Useful Details
Each condo is provided one CPE (customer provided equipment) device which will be mounted on an existing ethernet wall jack
CPE's are private to your condo and therefore more secure
Any wired jacks used are shared across all building users
The building wifi system is now thought to be very high performing and reliable. If you don't have a good experience ask for help
Every CPE has two ethernet jacks, you can attached wired devices it you like
Many jacks are connected in units but not connected in the telecomm closets
As of Sept 2022 the previously used FCFP wifi system has been disabled (was named FCFPinternet w/password fcfpguest)
As of Sept 2022 our buildings are served with 1Gb fiber from Lumen. Efforts continue to expand this, however there are infrastructure challenges involved. At the moment the network is not experiencing unacceptable over-capacity situations other than (possibly) for milliseconds during highest use periods
Reasons you might want to contact Condo Wireless
If you want to discover or change your wifi name and/or password
If the light on the CPE bothers you it can be disabled
If your devices aren't connecting reliably, or experiencing unacceptable slowness
If you wish to have a non-working ethernet jack enabled
If you have a special situation (they can sometimes provide additional equipment)
Tips
Please double check that all of your communication materials to guests (if you rent yoru condo) are updated. As of Sept 2022 Condo Wireless is still receiving regular calls from guests who are being given outdated information
you can have higher performance for streaming by connecting to the wired ethernet wall jacks (although they may not be conveniently located) such as for a gaming system or a TV
